JTI Appoints New Factory Manager in Switzerland
Serkan Pusuroglu appointed as the new factory manager of Japan Tobacco International's Dagmersellen plant in Switzerland.

According to a report by Luzerner Zeitung on January 17th, Japan Tobacco International has announced a personnel appointment. Serkan Pusuroglu, the factory manager of Japan Tobacco International's Myanmar factory, will assume the position of factory manager in Dagmersellen, Switzerland.

 

Previously, Piotr Lipinski, former CEO of Daggmercelen, has been appointed as the Global Director of Engineering.

A vape retail company in Kuching, Malaysia, was fined RM20,000 (about USD 4,921.86) by the Magistrates’ Court on January 19, 2026, after pleading guilty to an offence under Section 9(1) of the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024 (Act 852). The case concerned a poster displayed at the company’s premises on October 6, 2025, carrying the slogan “BEST VALUE FOR MONEY.”

Japan Tobacco (JT) has rolled out an Ichiro Yamaguchi collaboration under its Ploom AURA “SENSATIONAL” campaign, using a combined marketing push—limited sales, a prize draw, video content distribution and in-store displays—to release five front panels and two branded accessories. Two panels will go on sale from Jan. 27, while the remaining panels and accessories will be distributed through a draw running from Jan. 19 to Feb. 28.

Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency in Pavlodar Region has concluded an investigation into an organised group involved in the illegal sale of vaping products. The group operated through three Telegram-based online shops and used courier delivery services. Authorities seized more than 53,000 items, with a total value exceeding 400 million tenge. The investigation found that students were the primary consumers. Four suspects have been placed in custody and multiple assets have been seized.
