According to Etoday, JTI Korea announced on March 31 that its next-generation heated tobacco device, Ploom AURA, will officially launch in South Korea on April 14.

JTI Korea unveiled Ploom AURA in Seoul for the first time in Korea

JTI Korea held a media event that day at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, where it unveiled Ploom AURA in Korea for the first time.

At the event, JTI Korea President Irina Lee and Marketing Director Frederic Estripo introduced the values pursued by the Ploom brand and the main features of Ploom AURA.

Ploom AURA features Smart Heatflow technology and four heating modes

JTI Korea said Ploom AURA is a next-generation device that strongly embodies the completeness sought by the Ploom brand, and emphasized that it has evolved to be smoother, smarter, and slimmer in response to consumer needs.

The company said the product’s main feature is its “Smart Heatflow” heating engine. According to JTI Korea, this technology precisely controls tobacco heating temperature to deliver a richer and more uniform tobacco taste. The company also said the device leaves less tobacco odor on hair, clothes, and in the mouth than conventional cigarettes.

Users can choose one of four heating modes through the dedicated Ploom app and adjust taste intensity and usage time according to their preference and situation. Among the four modes, “Long Mode” can be used for up to six minutes, which is 20% longer than the existing default usage time.

The device will be released in four colors and sold across multiple platforms

JTI Korea said that in “Battery Saver Mode,” the device can be used for up to 27 sticks on a full charge. The newly launched Ploom app also provides functions such as battery status checking, device finding, and device locking. The company added that Ploom AURA is slimmer and lighter than previous devices.

Ploom AURA will be released in four colors: Jet Black, Rose Gold, Navy Blue, and Luna Silver. The company said the device can also be customized through accessories such as front panels, back covers, and device pocket bags, with more than 500 possible combinations.

The product will be available from April 14 through the official Ploom website and e-commerce platforms including Coupang and Naver.

Irina Lee, President of JTI Korea, said Ploom AURA is an innovative next-generation heated tobacco device created through a combination of broad consumer insight and JTI’s technology, and said it will set a new standard for the future of the heated tobacco category.
