JTI to halt sales of two cigarettes in South Korea
JTI to halt sales of two cigarette products in South Korea, reflecting market trend towards flavored and heated tobacco.

According to a report by Newsis on January 17th, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) announced the suspension of sales of two cigarette products in South Korea.


Industry insiders have revealed that JTI Korea plans to stop selling "Mevius Havana Crush" and "Camel Super Slim" at some convenience stores starting next month (February).


Mevius Havana Crush" and "Camel Super Slim" are both representative cigarette brands under JTI. In 2024, JTI also stopped selling the "Mevius One" cigarette and instead introduced three new flavored cigarettes, as well as the release of the heated tobacco device "Ploom X Advanced," re-entering the South Korean HNB market.


A source in the tobacco industry revealed that the recent trend in the South Korean tobacco market is leaning towards flavored cigarettes and heated tobacco products. He stated, "This product line adjustment seems to reflect consumer demand.
