Kedah state government considers ban on e-cigarette sales, following Terengganu.
Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi, Chief Minister of Malaysia's Kedah state, announced plans to follow Terengganu's move to ban the sale of e-cigarettes and will propose the issue at the state executive council meeting next week. Terengganu's government has already announced a statewide ban on the sale of e-cigarette products starting August 1.

2.The state of Dongjialou has announced a complete ban on the sale of e-cigarettes starting from August 1, 2025.

According to a report by NST on April 27, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, the Chief Minister of Kedah, Malaysia, announced plans to follow the example of the Terengganu state government in banning the sale of e-cigarette products within the state.

 

He pointed out that he will formally propose the relevant issues at the state executive council meeting scheduled for next week.

 

"If possible, we hope to emulate the measures taken by Downing Street."

 

Sanusi stated that the use of "magic mushroom" e-cigarette products is becoming a serious issue in the field of illegal drugs in Malaysia.

 

The Dong Jialou state government has announced a complete ban on the sale of all e-cigarette products in the state, starting from August 1, 2025.

The Texas Supreme Court issued a case summary on May 8, 2026, describing its decision in Hancock v. RJR Vapor Co. LLC. Data from convenience insight agency Talysis shows that the value of tobacco, vapes and smoking alternatives in the independent convenience sector fell by 4.4% in the first quarter of 2026, while volume fell by 7.8%.
