KT&G to Release New HNB Device "Lil Able 2.0"
KT&G to launch new "Lil Able 2.0" HNB device with innovative features and advanced technology on June 26.

According to South Korean media N.News, on June 24th, the South Korean tobacco company KT&G announced that it will launch a new HNB device "Lil Able 2.0" on the 26th.

The new product is equipped with three different types of cigarette sticks, including "Real," "Granule," and "Vapor Stick," and comes with two usage modes, "Balance Mode" and "Classic Mode." Additionally, the device also includes a "Pause" function, allowing users to pause for up to 2 minutes during each use.

In terms of technology, the device has a preheating time of 27 seconds in "classic mode," which is more than 20% shorter than the previous generation product. The fast charging feature allows the device to charge up to 50% in just 40 minutes. Other retained advantages include the "smart start" feature (automatically preheating when a cigarette is inserted) and the "cleaning inconvenience relief" feature to prevent cigarette residue from remaining inside the device.

In terms of design, "Lil Able 2.0" features a curved appearance with a colored display screen on the front, allowing users to view essential information such as battery status and remaining puffs.

The new product is available in four color options: Cotton Blue, Cozy Burgundy, Space Black, and Champagne Gold.

"Lil Able 2.0" will be available for exclusive sale at six "lil Minimalism" brand stores starting on June 26th, and will be expanding its availability to convenience stores in Seoul, nationwide "lil Station" outlets, and the dedicated online store "lil Store" starting in July. The suggested retail price is 88,000 Korean won (approximately $63.31 USD).

KT&G NGP Business Division General Manager Ren Wangshen said:

Lil Able 2.0" focuses on enhancing user convenience and has made new differentiations in core functionality and design. In the future, we will continue to build on unique innovative technology to enhance brand competitiveness, solidify our leadership in the domestic market, and propel our NGP business to the top global level.

Nebraska Lawmakers Consider Major Tax Hikes on Cigarettes, Vapes and Other Nicotine Products
Nebraska lawmakers are considering two tax bills targeting nicotine products. LB1124 would raise the cigarette tax from $0.64 to $1.64 per pack, while LB1238 would shift cigarettes to a 30% tax on the retailer’s purchase price and increase taxes on alternative nicotine and other tobacco products to 30%. The commentary argues the hikes could raise consumer costs, pressure small retailers, and increase cross-border shopping and illicit market activity.
