Mississippi to Impose Consumption Tax on Disposable E-Cigarettes
Mississippi Senate passes SB 3105 bill to impose consumption tax on disposable e-cigarettes, proposed by GOP Senator Daniel Sparks.

According to a report from Law360 on March 28, the state of Mississippi in the United States will impose a consumer tax on disposable e-cigarettes.

 

On Wednesday, March 27, the Mississippi State Senate passed SB 3105 bill with a vote of 50 to 0. The bill, proposed by Republican Senator Daniel Sparks from Belmont on Monday, March 25, will now move to the House for consideration. This bill proposes a tax of 17 cents per "heating element" or "disposable," or 3.4 cents per pack of 20.

 

The bill will come into immediate effect after it is passed.
