National Regulations on Sales and Advertising of Energy Drinks in Spain

Spanish health secretary Javier Padilla supports nationwide regulations on energy drink sales to minors, calling it "reasonable".

Recently, according to a report by infobae, Javier Padilla, a Spanish Member of Parliament and Undersecretary of Health, stated during a media briefing that implementing nationwide regulations on the sale of energy drinks to minors is "reasonable".

Currently, Galicia is preparing a bill to prohibit the sale of these beverages to minors and restrict their advertising. In terms of sales and advertising, the future law will equate energy drinks with alcoholic beverages and e-cigarettes with tobacco, which means, for example, that these beverages cannot be sold in sports stadiums or their advertising will be regulated.
