【2Firsts News Flash】According to a report by MGROnline on July 23, Thai police along with cooperating agencies in Loei conducted a raid on a rented property and seized approximately 10,000 e-cigarette products and accessories, with an estimated value of about 1,500,000 Thai Baht (approximately $40,000).

According to sources, this operation was initiated based on residents reporting that young people were gathering in rented housing. Following this, authorities launched an investigation and confirmed that the location in Wang Saphung District was involved in the illegal sale of e-cigarettes. As a result, the police quickly obtained a search warrant from the court and carried out this operation.

The police discovered a 30-year-old suspect residing in Wangsapu County during the operation. He claimed to be the owner of the house. Upon further search, the police found a large quantity of e-cigarette products, including disposable e-cigarette devices, e-cigarette bodies, and e-liquid, with a total value of approximately 1,500,000 Thai Baht (about $40,000).

According to the 2017 Tariff Law and the 1979 Consumer Protection Law, the suspect has been charged with illegally importing and selling e-cigarettes. The police have transferred the suspect to the Wangshapu County Police Station for further investigation, and are planning to track down other individuals involved in order to hold them legally accountable.
