Three Men Arrested for Stealing Over £3000 Worth of E-Cigarettes
Three men have been arrested after stealing over £3000 worth of e-cigarettes from a shop in Sutton High Street.

According to local media outlet thisislocallondon, three men broke into a shop located on Sutton High Street and stole e-cigarettes worth over £3000.

 

Officers from Sutton Safer Neighborhood Team (SNT) have successfully identified the three suspects through CCTV footage investigation. Following this, the police proceeded to the relevant addresses where they found the three men along with several e-cigarettes, believed to be the stolen items.

 

After the stolen items were found, the three men were promptly apprehended by the police and taken to a detention center, where they are now facing multiple charges.

 

Sutton Metropolitan Police Service (Sutton MPS) has reported that in the early hours of January 3, 2024, three men broke into a shop on Sutton High Street and stole a significant amount of e-cigarettes, worth over £3000. Following an investigation using CCTV footage, officers from the Sutton Community Safety Team swiftly identified the individuals involved and recovered the stolen goods. The men were subsequently arrested and are currently facing multiple charges.

Philip Morris Malaysia Managing Director Naeem Shahab Khan met Perlis Mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin on September 17 and presented the company's shift from conventional cigarettes toward alternative products. The mufti said a product could be considered halal if it is clean, its side effects are not harmful or can be controlled, and it does not involve excessive waste. His remarks did not mention IQOS or any other specific PMI product and did not amount to a new product-specific religious ruling. It was at least the second publicly reported engagement between Philip Morris Malaysia and a Malaysian religious institution over cigarette alternatives within six months.

The UK Insolvency Service said YSK Enterprises imported large quantities of vapes from China in 2023, with a shipment addressed to the company declared as medical nebulizers before Border Force found 352,688 vaping products. HMRC calculated nearly £15 million ($20.3 million) in unpaid VAT and customs duty, alongside about £437,000 in corporation tax. Two directors were disqualified for nine years. The case predates the UK's Vaping Products Duty, which will introduce vape-specific excise and duty-stamp requirements from October 2026.

Less than a week after JUUL2 received U.S. FDA marketing authorization on August 28, 2026, JUUL Labs was sued for patent infringement in federal court in Delaware. AJ Marketing LLC filed the complaint on September 3, alleging that both JUUL 1 and JUUL2 infringe U.S. Patent No. 8,851,068 B2. The patent covers aspects of programmable electronic vaporization devices, including controls over dose delivery, usage frequency and operating parameters. The plaintiff is seeking reasonable royalties and ongoing royalties tied to the remaining life of the patent. JUUL has not yet publicly responded to the case.

China Discloses First Criminal Case Over Counterfeit Vapes Disguised as “Medical Nebulizers” and “Zero-Nicotine” Products
Chinese authorities have disclosed the country’s first reported criminal case involving counterfeit vapes marketed as “medical nebulizers” and “zero-nicotine” products. Authorities determined that the products involved were counterfeit vapes and pursued criminal charges for producing and selling counterfeit goods. According to the report, the case resulted in the seizure of 347,000 counterfeit vape pods and 53,700 vape devices, with physical goods valued at 22.13 million yuan.
