Turkish Media Reports Massive Seizure of Smuggled E-cigarettes

Turkish authorities seized $150,000 worth of smuggled e-cigarettes in Cizre, Şırnak, leading to the arrest of a resident.

According to Turkish media Karsmanset, on July 1st, the Public Order and Intelligence Bureau in the Cizre district of Şırnak, a southeastern city in Turkey, conducted a search operation and seized e-cigarettes with a market value of 5 million Turkish Lira (approximately $15,000). One resident was arrested in connection with the operation.

According to intelligence assessed by the Public Order and Intelligence Bureau, a large quantity of smuggled goods were found in a private residence. In this coordinated search operation, the Public Order and Intelligence Bureau seized 5635 smuggled e-cigarettes with a market value of up to 5 million Turkish Lira (15,000 USD).

In this operation, a suspect named M.D. was arrested by the police and has now been handed over to the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime for further investigation.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
