Warrington has the highest smoking cessation rate at 84%, according to a study by Go Smoke Free.

According to a report by the Warrington Guardian, a study conducted by Go Smoke Free has found that Warrington has the highest success rate for quitting smoking in England.

The research conducted utilised data from the National Health Service (NHS) on smoking cessation in 152 regions of England from April 2022 to March 2023. Among these regions, Warrington was found to have the highest success rate, with 1026 out of 1218 smokers who set a quit date reporting cessation in the follow-up survey four weeks later, approximately an 84% success rate.

Darlington boasts an impressive success rate of 82%, whereas North East Lincolnshire trails slightly behind at 78%.

A spokesperson for Go Smoke Free stated that the high 84% success rate in Warrington is commendable, but equally important is recognizing the determination and commitment of individuals in England who seek support to quit smoking, regardless of the stage they are at on their quit smoking journey.
