2Firsts,on October 16, 2025, the Johor state government conducted a enforcement operation at a shopping center in Johor Bahru to crack down on the illegal sale of e-cigarettes, seizing over 1900 e-cigarette-related products, as reported by straitstimes.

Despite the ban on e-cigarette sales in Johor state, some vendors are still openly selling these products.

Johor Health and Environment Committee Chairman Ling Tian Soon stated that during this operation, enforcement officers discovered these e-cigarette products at stalls selling portable fans and mobile phone accessories.

The confiscated items include disposable e-cigarettes, e-cigarette devices, and various flavors of e-liquid. These products often feature modern packaging designs and are marketed with a variety of flavors to appeal to young consumers.

Ling Tian Soon emphasized that the Johor state government will collaborate with the health department and relevant agencies to strictly crack down on the sale of e-cigarettes, and urged the public to actively report similar illegal activities. Meanwhile, Malaysian Health Minister Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad stated that there are plans to achieve a nationwide ban on e-cigarettes by the mid-2026, demonstrating a firm determination to combat smoking habits.
