Legal Dispute Between Megapolis and Russian Ministry of Industry
Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade sues Dutch tobacco distributor Megapolis in Moscow arbitration court.

According to a report from the TASS news agency on July 19th, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has filed a lawsuit against the Dutch tobacco distributor Megapolis in the Moscow Region Arbitration Court. The specific details of the dispute are not available in the arbitration case database, but the lawsuit was filed on July 18th.


Megapolis Distribution B.V. is the parent company of "Megapolis" distributors, which supplies tobacco products from JTI, PMI, and other tobacco giants to the Russian market.

Police in Malaysia detained 51 individuals and seized over RM1 million worth of electronic cigarettes and liquid refills in a five-state operation dubbed “Op E-CIG,” conducted by the GOF Central Brigade on February 10. The report said the operation involved 30 raids across Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Melaka, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. Authorities seized 2,263 vape units and 165.463 litres of liquid.
