According to a report by Malaysia's The Star on May 20th, all local authorities in Selangor, Malaysia have been instructed to immediately seize and confiscate advertisements related to e-cigarette products in the state.

The decision was made during a coordination meeting chaired by Jamaliah Jamaluddin, Chairperson of the State Public Health and Environment Committee, on May 16. The meeting aimed to discuss a proposal to ban the sale of e-cigarettes in Selangor.

Jamaica stated in the announcement that this move is in compliance with the provisions of the Tobacco Control Act 2023, which explicitly prohibits any form of advertising, promotion, and sponsorship related to e-cigarette products.

During the meeting, various topics related to the use and sale of e-cigarettes were discussed, including enforcement challenges, permits, legal aspects, and monitoring issues.
