Paraguay Approves Regulations on E-Cigarettes for Public Health Protection

Paraguay's Congress approved regulations on e-cigarettes, aimed at protecting public health and restricting sales to minors under 18.

According to a report by Popular on September 3rd, the Paraguayan House of Representatives approved a regulatory bill regarding e-cigarettes, restricting their importation, production, consumption, advertising, and sale, while also prohibiting the sale of such products to minors under the age of 18.

According to reports, this new legislation aims to protect public health by implementing strict measures on e-cigarettes and related products. The official name of the bill is "Regulations on E-cigarette Health Protection Measures, Nicotine Management Systems, and Similar Nicotine-free Systems".

According to documents that have been passed, health regulation and control will be overseen by the National Health Supervision Bureau (Dinavisa), a subsidiary of the Paraguayan Ministry of Public Health. Import and export management will be handled by the National Tax Management Agency (DNIT), which will manage the import and export of these products, flavors, and related accessories within its jurisdiction.
