France May Soon Ban Various Nicotine Products to Prevent Smoking

France considers banning various nicotine products following e-cigarette ban, citing concerns over potential gateway to smoking. (19 words)

According to Actu.Orange, on December 29th, France may soon ban various other nicotine products following e-cigarettes. The Health Minister believes these products may lead people to start smoking.

Euromonitor International (Euromonitor) has stated that due to regulations on tobacco and smoking cessation products experiencing significant growth, the global cigarette market is expected to decrease by one-third by 2027.

France's current Minister of Health, Geneviève Darrieussecq, once expressed her desire to ban nicotine pouches. The minister explained in a late October interview that a study from the National Consumption Institute showed that these products contain heavy metals such as arsenic.

The current Minister of Health, Yannick Neuder, has not yet commented on the topic, but signs suggest that he may continue the policies initiated by his predecessor.
