KT&G Donates Funds to Welfare Institution for Visually Impaired
KT&G South Jeolla Province headquarters donates 5 million KRW to welfare institution through its own charity organization, Imagination Fund, to support visually impaired people.

According to a report from Wikitree on December 4th, KT&G South Korea's headquarter in Jeollanam-do has donated 5 million Korean won to a welfare institution through its own charity organization called "Imagination Fund". This funding aims to support visually impaired individuals.

The "Imagination Fund" is a distinctive social welfare fund initiated by KT&G in 2011. It involves voluntary monthly contributions from company employees, and the company then matches these donations to better serve the community and help neighbors in need.

Additionally, KT&G's headquarters in Jeollanam-do is involved in various charitable donations that include providing scholarships for talent development, improving living conditions for disadvantaged groups, offering heating fuel support, and sharing kimchi during the year-end.

Smoore Seeks to Toss CCELL Price-Fixing Claim as Court Weighs Vertical Distribution Versus Horizontal Conspiracy
Smoore and four authorized U.S. CCELL distributors are asking a California federal court to permanently dismiss a core antitrust claim brought by direct purchasers. Plaintiffs allege that Smoore coordinated minimum wholesale prices, customer allocation and limits on price competition among distributors, amounting to a per se unlawful horizontal conspiracy. The defendants say the alleged conduct reflects ordinary vertical relationships between a manufacturer and its distributors. The court previously dismissed a similar claim, and the latest dispute centers on whether the second amended complaint adds sufficient facts to establish a horizontal agreement.

The report says non-circular electronic products, particularly single-use items, can increase consumption of limited natural resources and also details an IQOS repair pilot. A 2040 circularity scenario tests assumptions including a 50% reduction in product waste-related costs, 10% raw-material savings and a 25% substitution rate for refurbished products versus new products.
