PMI Japan unveils limited edition IQOS ILUMA i in Galaxy Blue, inspired by the universe, set to launch on October 29.

2Firsts, October 14, 2025 - According to PR Times Japan, Philip Morris International (PMI) Japan announced the release of a limited edition model of their heat-not-burn tobacco device IQOS ILUMA i series in "Galaxy Blue." The product will be available in the Japanese market starting on October 29th.

 

According to PMI Japan, the "Galaxy Blue" design is inspired by the concept of an "endless journey," drawing inspiration from the mystery and infinite possibilities of the universe. The main body of the charger is designed in deep blue, symbolizing the night sky, while the cover part is presented in gradient colors to create a visual effect of sparkling stars.

Daniel Sevcik, the Market Portfolio Director for PMI Japan, stated that this limited edition is aimed at enhancing the brand image of IQOS ILUMA i with an "innovative" theme and showcasing a sense of futuristic technology. The model will be sold in special packaging at a suggested retail price of 6,980 Japanese yen (approximately 46 US dollars).

 

In addition, PMJ also announced the launch of a new regular flavor "TEREA Clear Regular" in the IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i series of dedicated pods, which will be available for sale starting on October 27. The new flavor is characterized by its smooth balance and refreshing aftertaste, making it the sixth product in the TEREA regular series.

Sevcik, pointed out that although conventional (non-mint) categories still have lower penetration rates in the heated tobacco market compared to mint or flavored products, their users have stable usage and higher loyalty, therefore they still have growth potential.
