Russian Duma Considers Ban on E-cigarettes in Spring Session
Russia's State Duma may consider a bill banning e-cigarettes during the spring session, according to committee chair Artem Metelev.

According to a report by TASS on February 16, the Russian State Duma may consider a bill to ban e-cigarettes during the spring session. Artem Metelev, Chairman of the Youth Policy Committee in the State Duma, revealed this information.

 

"The relevant proposal has been prepared and is currently being discussed in depth with the government.We very much hope to review and pass the bill during this session."

 

Earlier, Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker of the Russian State Duma, proposed to lawmakers to draft a bipartisan bill to ban e-cigarettes. He stated that previous measures banning the sale of e-cigarettes and e-liquids to minors were not sufficient to protect children. Subsequently, Medvedev announced that lawmakers have prepared a comprehensive bill to ban the production and import of e-cigarettes and other nicotine-containing products in Russia.
