Brazilian Federal Highway Police seize illegal electronic devices on highway

Brazilian Federal Highway Police seized 732 illegal electronic devices, including 283 e-cigarettes, worth $350,000 in Alagoinas.

According to a report from g1.globo on October 15, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized 732 illegal electronic devices in Alagoinas, including 283 e-cigarettes. The total value of the seized items was 2 million reais, approximately 350,000 US dollars.

The Federal Highway Police reported that a long-distance bus was stopped for inspection at kilometer 160 of BR-153. Inside the luggage compartment of the vehicle, authorities found these items in a cardboard box.

According to reports, these products were seized due to suspected smuggling and tax evasion, and were later transferred to the Federal Tax Office located in Palmas for processing. The drivers of the vehicles were questioned as witnesses in this case.
